These figures are Nakazawa’s own interpretation of kaiju—the “strange beasts” of Japanese culture and mythology, known from the science fiction genre that includes icons like Godzilla and King Kong. Specifically, they include Byron, the giant salamander; Seedlas Brother, the pre-evolution form of Byron; and Tokke, the gecko monster.
